One for the Boys!

Today's card is One for the Boys! Masculine cards are difficult for me, but I love this image by Kenny K. Its perfect for those punk little fuckers that you love to hate! :-) Just kidding!!     This was the first time that I've ever done a sk8ter boi card. :) Also, the first time I got to use my new Spellbinders nestability to create the die cut!   I love how the die turned out and I was able to create a concrete look using silver metalic paper (don't try to distress it! the ink will never dry!) and layer the papers to create depth.  I even had the chance to write in creamy white on the brick wall.  Originally I wanted to use my silver sharpie for a spray paint effect, but I couldn't find it. I cut the little skater dude out after coloring him with my copics, popped some rivets on the die cut and used some dimentional stickies to pop the little guy off of the brick wall, leaving his hand just just be glued. I also put some di...

Drunken Stampers - Team Bahama Mama - The Birds (Birds)

Image
This week's challenge at Drunken Stampers was one of my favorite classic pieces, by the amazing director (although one with questionable morals, according to Tippy Hedron interviews) Alfred Hitchcock.     Here is my take on the challenge.     I love this card because it is the epitomy of the movie the birds, from the dark tones to the classic black and white printed papers. Anyways, I adore this card!   Check out what the other ladies from Drunken Stampers have come up with!   Cheers, Xo

Bombshell Stamps March Pin Up Challenge

Image
The Pin Up Challenge this month was to use three Bombshell stamps in one piece. I've been working on a new project and trying to push myself to get out of my comfort zone. So I incorporated mod podge, ribbon and some found items and created a mixed media layout.           For this layout I used the Love and Luck sparrows, the heart from the Madonna Woodcut  set, the small icon anchor from the Ahoy Sailor set; and the small icon skull and crossbones from the Homeward Bound set.   This project was stamped on white paper, colored with copics, tea-stained and distressed stained. There's some sparkle in there for fun. Eventually it will be bound into a small book.   Thanks for stopping by. Leave a comment if you like! :) Cheers!

Drunken Stampers - Team Bahama Mama - 16 Candles (Happy Birthday)

Image
This term's Drunken Stamper's Challenge theme is two-fold: its based on movies, but if you haven't seen the movie, you can go with another theme. The movie this week was Sixteen Candles. I'm a Molly Ringwald and Anthony Michael Hall fan, and I vaguely remember this movie. (Actually, I should probably see it again!)   Of course she gets the guy in the end and blah blah blah, but I wanted to do something different for this challenge, so I made a guy's birthday card.   And I based my card off of this sketch.     A little naughty, a little nice, and I hope you liked it. So now is your chance to win "Life of the Party!"- remember, you can only win if you play along! Check out Drunken Stampers and play along!   Cheers!
