Hello Crafty Friends! I created this card for the Art Impressions Spring Colors challenge (http://artimpressionsstamps.blogspot.com/2015/03/challenge-156-spring-colors-challenge.html?m=1) Thanks for stopping by today! I wanted to share with you a new greeting card I came up with featuring a new background stamp I purchased from the fab shop Dolce Stamps (it's called "wireworks" and created by JudiKins stamps <and I also purchased "John" from the same company - he's a mod guy and will be appearing at a later date!>) and a new image I purchased from Art Impressions (love love love their images!!!) I used the Yoga Yolanda set for this card, along with candy dots and ribbon in a coordinating color.  The background was stamped in a pale green teardrop memento pad. This set makes me smile because I love yoga and the quote is so true! Very cute - makes me smile and very fun to color with my copics. I'm looking forward to sending this card in th...

A Little Trick for Correspondence

When I was little and I would go spend the day with my grandma, I remember getting into her filing cabinet. She kept scratch paper for me to draw on, but she also had a well-stocked box of greeting cards in that cabinet and her desk. All sorts, with beautiful pictures of flowers on a table, pictures of paintings and picturesque sunset.  So when she gave me the gift of beautiful pink stationary with a matching pen one year for Christmas, I fell in love with correspondence. Carrying on Her Tradition Today, I carry on her tradition (obviously - I design and create cards!) and always keep one of those plastic folding files in my desk. My folder has tabs with pockets on the inside and I’ve labeled each tab with the type of greeting card that pocket contains: Thinking of You, Love, Birthday, Anniversary, Get Well, Sympathy, etc. I fill those pockets with all of my different style of greeting cards. A Little Trick A great little trick to save time (and constantly running to t...

Only Young Once

Image
But you can be immature for a lifetime! Ain't that the truth!? That's the sentiment on the latest card I've designed. I like this card because it makes me smile - not only is the sentiment true, but it's got this goofy little picture of an old lady riding one of those coin-operated kid's toys outside grocery stores! Funny, it makes me chuckle. It's a birthday card and perfect for that someone you know who may be older, but still has a rambunctious streak!!! Hahah!! You're only as old as you feel, and I hope I never feel old. I'd rather act my shoe size, thanks... Hope this little card made you smile!

Welcome back everyone! I’m really excited because I broke 180 fans on my facebook fan site. Wahoo! I’m still going for 200, so when I reach 200 I think I’ll have a giveaway. What should I give away? Leave me a comment and let me know what you think! Wow, have I got some great cards to share with you! I’ve been busy stamping and coloring and piecing items together for the upcoming holidays - Halloween and Dia de Los Muerte, which are probably my two favorite holidays of the year. I was so happy with how these cards turned out, I listed them in the shop before posting here about them. I love this Día de los Muertos because it features one of my favorite sugar skull stamps from Bombshell stamps. It's altered with rhinestones and is handcolored. I love this card because, again, it features a couple wonderful images from Bombshell stamps, one of my favorite companies, and has been hand-colored. I also used my Tattered Angels glimmer mist for the first time on this card to ad...

Layouts!

Image
Hi Ladies! I wanted to share with you some of my first layouts. Please keep in mind when viewing these that I *just* started scrapbooking, and although it's not really that different from cardmaking, I am truly more of a card maker at heart. ;) I know, excuses, excuses, right? :P So here's my first ever layout and they're listed in order. I think I can actually *see* the layouts progressing, can't you? lol Please leave comments and let me know what you think!!!! I'd love to get better at design elements and I'd love to hear your feedback! (not completed) Comments welcome!!! Cheers, Xo, Rachael

Monday: New in my Shop

Image
Hello Again my Friends!!! So glad you came back for a gander! :0) I had a great, relaxing weekend. Take a look at some new items in the shop! I made this cute little "thanks" card with flower and two butterflies. It's out of my norm, but that's my handwriting in the sentiment. Also, LOVING the butterfly feature on my cricut!! They're coated in pink to pop them and I added a little bling to add some sparkle. Cute, huh? I thought it was perfect for summer! I also added this sweet butterfly 5x5 card to the shop as well! Isn't this absolutely adorable? I used designer papers from the hopskotch line, as well as some other fancy printed papers I've been stashing away for far too long! ;-) Check back tomorrow for my Stuff I Love entry! And then on Wed you can see everything I've been working on in the studio lately! Cheers, Xo, Rachael

New in my Shop

Image
Hi All. Wow. So I have added more items to my shop today than I intended! Usually I only like to add maybe one or two, but I've been creating so many cards lately I guess I went into a little listing frenzy! Emily sent me this sweet image of Sheree from InStyle stamps. At first I didn't know what to do with her, but then I sat down and looked through papers, which is my all-time favorite activitiy. I get so inspired! So below is what came of it! I added this darling little tub birthday card to my shop today. Actually, it can be used pretty much for almost any occasion. It's blank so you can use it for a 'relax' gift card holder, a birthday sentiment, or mother's day. Or even for your best girlfriend! I also decided to add this VAVOOM birthday card to my shop! I was really excited to use my new image from Kraftin' Kimmie - she hadn't even touched ink before I made this card. (That's always exciting!) Isn't she cute?! I love the way this ...

News and Tips

Image
Hello and Good Morning All! All Friday postings are going to be news, tips and tricks from now on. First up, news! I am now a part of Paper Craft Planet! This is a large community that I have only heard of before now. I am flabbergasted at the amount of information on this site! Find me here: http://www.papercraftplanet.com/profile/RachaelBrackett I’m also new to Splitcoast Stampers as well. Last night I finally had the opportunity to sit down and do a little stamping for myself. I stamped some great images from Kraftin’ Kimmie and colored them in with my copics. This is probably my favorite technique! Here’s a picture of how they turned out. I should have the time this evening and weekend to finish up some cards for these cute little images. That’s all the news I have for today my lovelies. Don't forget to follow this blog, follow me on flickr , twitter , and facebook  for specials and discounts only available to my friends! :-)   Cheers! Xo Rachae...

New In My Shop

Helloooo Out There in Bloggerland! Thanks for swinging by! I hope your weekend was fantastic and you got some great arts and crafts done and some good family time in. Over the weekend I didn't get much crafting done, but I *did* stock up on supplies! My Paper Zone *finally* started stocking copic markers, so I picked up these beauties. I also picked up some raffia (which I haven't used before on cards, but I'm totally stoked to try!) some flowers (which I haven't found anywhere else but my trusty PZ) some rosettes, which looked fun, and a couple of stamps.  Also, the copics I ordered online came in the mail, which I was totally stoked about because it seems like I was waiting forever. With those I was able to do some trial and error stamping too!   Other than that, I have some new designs that are waiting to be photographed. I expect that those items will debut this week, so keep checking in for updates! Foillow me on twitter , flickr  and facebook  f...

Interview with a Seller: Cindy Bone!

Hi All! Well, I'm feeling a bit better and have some time to post this! One of the most lovely women I have had the privilidge to meet in my online adventures has been Cindy Bone. She's such a creative soul and really a delight. Here's her interview! 1. What’s your name and shop name and what do you do? I have 2 shops: Bonewear has vintage decorator items, vintage jewelry, and some handcrafted jewelry; CowgirlRocks has Southwest/Cowgirl style jewelry. 2. Where are you located? The great state of Texas 3. What’s the favorite part of your craft? I love making the rounds of estate sales looking for new and exciting vintage pieces for my shop; in jewelry making the creating process and all that it entails is thrilling, but I have to admit the best part is hearing how much a buyer loves a piece they've purchased-everyone can use an ego boost lol! 4. How long have you been crafting? As far back as I can remember-I have crayon drawings my mother saved when I was 4! I...
