Bombshell Blog Hop: Some Like It Hot!

Image
Its the end of the month stampers, and you know what that means!! Time for another great blog hop with Bombshell Stamps!! If you are here from Emily's blog , then you're in the right place. If not, go back and start at the Bombshell Stamps Blog to make sure you hop in the right order and get to see everyone's work. This month's theme is Some Like It Hot. I was totally inspired by this theme!! I even got to use my new prize rubber stamp Panther Tattoo  that I wont for a contest on the Design Team. (You can win prizes at Bombshell Stamps too, just check out the forum and sign up for our newsletter!) Anyways, here is what I came up with the for the fab hop this month! I stamped the Panther in bright pink, cut him out, layered him on/behind some scraps and added some Aileen's craft glue to make him look shiny. I think the bow was a nice detail. A little bit of femininity! :) Go ahead and leave a comment and let me know what you think! Don&#

A Very Sassy Tuesday

Image
Hello and Good Morning Friends! I wanted to share a card that I created over the weekend with you using Sassy Studio Designs. I couldn't find the link for her, but isn't she just gorgeous?!     I love her in purple! I was able to match her dress to this ribbon I found in my stash. Now to send her out into the world to make someone's day a little bit brighter. :)   I hope this little card inspired you to create something that makes you happy. Cheers! Xo

More on the Copic Color and Ink Workshop 2013

Image
Hello! Back in  December 2012  I first told you about the newest Copic Workshop, the 2013 Color and Ink Workshop Series. I plan on taking this two-day workshop myself if I can manage to swing it. They'll cover: Coloring Various Skin Tones and Hair Styles Oodles of Doodles and Backgrounds Airbrushing Made Easy So Many Surfaces Personally, I'm in love with airbrushing, so I'm looking forward to not only meeting  Colleen Schann, (and learning once again from the fab  Sherrie Siemens!) but I can't wait to learn more techniques to help me get more use out of the markers that I've purchased with Backgrounds and Airbrushing.   Sandy Allnock, President and founder of Operation Write Home, took the workshop and has a great review here . Her photos sure have inspired me! The cost of the workshop is $300.00 for a two-day course which covers four different classes. Can't wait to see the dates and locations when they're finally posted!!!

Pink, Zebra and Polka Dots Love

Image
I love the combination of pink and black. I just think there's something about it that's super sexy, girly and fun, don't you? I changed up Deconstructed Sketch's Sketch (original sketch shown below) and made it my own. I love what I created, but if I had to add to this card, I think I would have added some stamping on the lower white part in a watermarking ink to add a little more interest. Do you think that would have been too much? I'm excited because I was able to use the beautiful cream flower cabachon I've been hoarding forever. I love this card, I think it's romantic and naughty and nice all rolled into one. Super girly and sexy! This card is entered for: In the Pink - Pink Valentines/Romance challenge CMC Copic Challenge Group -  **GIRLY TIME ** Just Some Lines - Love Challenge Little Claire's - Love and Romance Challenge Penny Black Saturday Challenge - Love and Marriage Twisted Tuesday Challenges - Use a Butto

Martini Tag with Custom Hand-Dyed Ribbon

Image
Welcome Back! Today's post is a handmade tag created using Kenny K's Happy Hour image, a vintage polka dot background stamp and some custom hand-dyed crinkle ribbon. I used my copics to color the image and slightly around the outside of the image.   I layered and blended the color.   I then used my copics to dye the crinkle ribbon, crumpled it, sprayed it with blender solution to create a waterbled look and hit it with the heat gun, crinkling it as I heated it.  I then used my Tim Holtz Distress stains to cover my tag with red, hit it with the heat gun and stamped in white with my vintage polka dots rubber stamp.   After, I cut out my martini girl and glued her down.   Simple and fun, a great little accent to a page, card or gift!   Cheers! Back in the Saddle

The last of my crafty shipments has arrived! YAY! I am so happy because since I have made the move from Seattle to Saskatoon I have felt that as a result the quality of my cards have suffered, which is a TOTAL bummer. My craft supplies have been literally split between two countries! YIKES! So my cards have been relatively simple and I feel lacking in creativity and enthusiasm. BUT! No longer! Not only have I been creatively kicked in the booty by the wonderful Ms Sheryl , but I’ve also received the rest of my crafty goodness from the states!!! YAY!!! I’m also looking forward to re-stocking my crafty supplies. I can’t wait to go to the craft store with Sheryl – we’ve planned a little ladies day of crafty shopping and I’ll be so glad to get some of my basics stockpiled and packed away. I’ve got my list and I’m ready to go!!

Shipments

Okay, so when I packed for the move from Seattle to Canada I packed very very lightly because I knew I couldn't take a lot on the train and I needed to be selective. So with regards to my crafting supplies I took a few printed sheets of images, all my Bombshell stamps, a black ink pad, my paper trimmer, some white paper, my copic markers, some tim holtz distress ink stains, my distress ink pads and that's it! Since then my mother has sent me the rest of my rubber stamps. I'm relived that she's going to send me my Cricut and Cuttlebug and the rest of my crafting supplies on Monday!!! Thank God because I'm kind of going nuts without them!!
