Thursday's Interview: Bombshell Em!

Hi Everyone!
Well, here's a sweet interview with one of my favorite people, BombshellEm! She’s a paper-crafter, a mommy, and a wonderful, sweet person! What a doll! She's also Ms. June over at BSS!
Check out her interview below!
 1. What’s your name and shop name and what do you do?
Emily and my blog is : http://bombshellemsartisticexpressions.blogspot.com/

2. Where are you located?
Good Ol' Northern California, in the heart of Mendocino County

3. What’s the favorite part of your craft?
My favorite part of my craft is I can make something for someone and it can brighten their day. I have this thing about sending homemade mail to people just to let them know that I am thinking about them.

4. How long have you been crafting?
Its more like when havent I been crafting!! Apparently for as long as I could hold a crayon, I have been doing something crafty.

5. What’s your favorite thing to make?
My favorite things to make are homemade treats (cookies, brownies, whatever sounds delish at the time) and cards. My friends love me during the holidays because I bring them both :)

6. What kind of camera do you use to shoot?
I am on the look out for a new camera... but I use a Canon Powershot SD780 IS. It works great, well UNTIL my daughter dropped it on one of our walks so now I have "blemishes" on my photos.

7. Who or what models your items?
Paper, Treats, my daughter and my friends kids.

8. What's the most rewarding part of running your own business?
Meeting new people, who inspire me and teach me new things. If it wasnt for all the supportive friends I have met along my crafty journey, I dont think I would have ever kept up with all of my projects.

9. What's the most challenging part of running your own business?
Most Challenging... EASY!! keeping my daughter away from my final pieces. If I have colored a image of any kind, my daughter thinks she needs to HELP me and she will color in any white space. Even if it is supposed to be there :)

10. On average, how many things do you create per week?
Depending on whats going on.... I like to make atleast 5 cards a week. But sometimes I get distracted. My New Years resolution was to keep track of how many cards I have made this year. To date I have made : 474, and more than two-thirds of that total have gone to Operation Write Home.

11. What inspires you?
Nature, Military, My Kitchen, and... one of my best friends, Cortney (RIP-- she was my biggest fan).

12. Take me thru your creative process.
Card making process: Turn tv on (I am a sucker for sports, and reality TV), make sure to get my favorite drink, and rummage through my stamps. For some reason I stamp out a bunch of the same image, color them... then figure out what papers to use.

Treat making process: I think what holiday is it, I pick about 5 easy treats I can do with my daughter, and we will make all of them the night before the holiday. While the treats are baking, cooling, whatever... I make and decorate the packaging for each person I am delivering to. Each package is personalized. Its a rough and tough task, but SO rewarding. All my friends know that they are getting treats, but it is always a nice surprise to have a hand delivered treat brought to you at work, or home.

13. What is your best advice to blossoming crafters?
Look at your surroundings for "ideas". Dont be afraid to pick up things from your surroundings and use them in your projects. Explore your outlets. Look at blogs, magazines... and dont be afraid to reach out to someone who has made a project that you like, because they can be your biggest asset in making your next project. In the craft world, we are always looking for someone to teach you something new.

Thanks Emily for the interview!
Don't forget to follow this blog for a chance to win my candy! :)
Cheers!
