No Red or Green - Mark's Finest Papers #136

This week's challenge at Speedy Fox & Friends was to make a traditional holiday card not using red or green. So I chose blue and gold and used the ivy from the Ivy and Blossoms set.


Guess I'm just a Scrooge because holiday cards are probably the least favorite type of cards for me to make. But this was fun. I really like how the gold embossing shows up on the Chipped Sapphire Distress Stain. And I got to use the rest of my pretty blue and gold fine paper!

How To Effectively Sell: Part III - FABG!

Hello All, Let me preface this post by saying that the FABG selling technique is not my original idea. When I was in commission sales I read a selling book that saved my life (and my paycheck) by Harry J. Friedman called "No Thanks, I'm Just Looking". While not the most well written book, Friedman does a great job of explaining how his years in the industry have helped him to form his professional retail sales techniques and turn shoppers into buyers. Artist's Collective #3 - Maeve Brennan

I first heard about Maeve after reading Kate Bolick's  Spinster    at the beginning of 2016. (At first I hated this book, but then it grew on me as Kate's story continued, but I digress.) Brennan is one of Kate's Five Awakeners and consequently, one of the people in my Artist Collective. I think that Maeve lived the life that she wanted to live and I think because of that she is a strong female role model. Suffice it to say, Maeve Brennan was thought-provoking at the least. I've included Maeve in my Artist Collective series because she inspires me to challenge myself artistically. She wrote in one way or another her entire life, even toward the end when she literally had nothing left.
