Happy Fall Greeting

One of my favorite smells is Autumn in the Pacific Northwest. Its unlike any smell I've smelled before! Its by far my favorite time of year, and not just because of fall, but because I love Halloween and Day of the Dead.


So, I created this cute Acorn and Pinecone fall card with lovely designer papers to commemorate the beautiful fall colours. I can see this card living on someone's mantel or table all season long, can't you? Its available now in the shop. I hope you like it as much as I do. Cheers!

How To Effectively Sell: Part III - FABG!

Hello All, Let me preface this post by saying that the FABG selling technique is not my original idea. When I was in commission sales I read a selling book that saved my life (and my paycheck) by Harry J. Friedman called "No Thanks, I'm Just Looking". While not the most well written book, Friedman does a great job of explaining how his years in the industry have helped him to form his professional retail sales techniques and turn shoppers into buyers. I recommend you pick this book up! It has saved my bacon many many times!! So, What *is* FABG? FABG stands for Feature, Advantage, Benefit, Grabber. Any item can be FABG'ed. Features - features are parts of the piece. Either a part of the piece or a characteristic of the piece. Artist's Collective #3 - Maeve Brennan

I first heard about Maeve after reading Kate Bolick's  Spinster    at the beginning of 2016. (At first I hated this book, but then it grew on me as Kate's story continued, but I digress.) Brennan is one of Kate's Five Awakeners and consequently, one of the people in my Artist Collective. I think that Maeve lived the life that she wanted to live and I think because of that she is a strong female role model. Suffice it to say, Maeve Brennan was thought-provoking at the least. I've included Maeve in my Artist Collective series because she inspires me to challenge myself artistically. She wrote in one way or another her entire life, even toward the end when she literally had nothing left.
