"Only the gentle are ever really strong." - James Dean

Ah, I made a card for World Card Making Day! How appropriate! ;) This card was inspired by the film Rebel Without a Cause.

The James Dean image is from Stampers Best. Everything else on this card was created using images from Bombshell Stamps

I used:
The V8 Symbol and the Hot Rod Classic saying, both from King of the Road set;
The Vintage Race Car from Vintage Racing set;
The Goggles and the Checkered Boarder, both from Vintage Motorcycle set;
The little mini skully cross and bones from Homeward Bound set; and
The nautical star from Luck & Fate set.

The inside.

I used the Happy Birthday banner from Banner Sayings set.

I love how this card turned out! I was recently reading about James and I hadn't realized that he was only 24 when he died. So young! He's younger when he died than I am now. Sad.

He was also the first actor to receive a posthumous Acadamy Award nomination for Best Actor and remains the only actor to have had two posthumous acting nominations!

James was in a crash on September 30, 1955 (we just passed the 57th anniversary of his death) at the junction of 46 and 41. He was on his way to meet some racing friends for supper after a race and had his racing mechanic in the car with him (whom survived) Upon impact, James Dean suffered a broken neck and severe internal bleeding, among other injuries. James and his mechanic were taken to the emergency room, where James Dean was pronounced dead on arrival at 6:20pm, September 30, 1955. :-(

He is buried in Park Cemetery in Fairmount, Indiana. There's also a memorial dedicated to James in Cholame, California.
